Synopsis:
In 1898, Ezra and Eve Lambert, along with their son named Kidd, move for the summer from Sacramento to the Yukon Territory to strike it rich mining for gold. Ezra is convinced that it will be easy and he will be successful; he is already telling his family that he will buy ponies and fancy dresses for them. While Ezra seeks a gold vein in the mountain, Kidd helps by mining in the river. One day, he discovered a raccoon that has huge gold nuggets. Kidd and Ezra make a trap to catch the raccoon so they can discover where that gold is coming from. Instead, they get a grizzly cub, which Kidd names Pokey. Pokey and Kidd become close friends. But when Ezra is injured by a grizzly bear, they must stay longer than expected.
