Deep thinkers might want to look away while the rest of us have our fun.Even if you?re able to ?suspend your disbelief,? as they say, and are willing to go with the flow as most genre fans can, you?ll still have to get past the dressed-down geektress instantaneously transforming into a high-kicking martial arts machine. That would be Uma, of course, and we should probably indulge her.Believe it or not, even with the sci-fi goings on, that was the only part of Paycheck that I found detracting and a bit hard to accept.I think the rest of it makes for a very entertaining movie, a really fun watch, definitely worth the investment. Now, the first 20 to 30 minutes may be a bit of a muddle for some viewers, as ?the set up? progresses, but then it gets much, much better, so hang in there! The pace picks up, and we can get caught up in the fairly well-plotted action.I was intrigued by the ?bag of clues? idea, but don?t spend much time trying to figure the clues out ahead of their time, it isn?t that kind of film. You?ll have to settle for figuring each of them out just a few moments or seconds before Affleck?s character does, which is still somewhat satisfying. With an interesting enough premise, a gimmick or three here and there, good sets and effects, decent acting and good action, this one is good for a weekend afternoon viewing.
