CRITIC REVIEWS
Lew Irwin
The animated Everyone's Hero was directed in part by Christopher Reeve, who died while it was in production. His wife Dana, who took over as executive producer of the film, died last year. It's probably good that they didn't see the reviews. John Anderson in Newsday sets the tone of most of them: "Subtle it is not. Well-intentioned, it certainly is. No one but the youngest in the family will care much about it, though." Likewise, Chris Kaltenbach's review in the Baltimore Sun is headlined: "Everyone's Hero is a home run for young, but no one else." Michael Wilmington in the Chicago Tribune observes that "given Hero's backstory and creative talent, it would be hard to knock it much and not feel like a scrooge."
