burton manages to overcome the hopelessly camera conscious state he usually assumes in movies, and actually gels solidly into the part...liz taylor has never been better...sandy dennis and george segal backup perfectly...this is one of the classics of classics of cinema...one of the most cerebral bummers of the medium...my favorite albee...if you want to feel good about something, try disney or a reuben sandwich.
