Don't approach this film with expectations of sophisticaton, and you may enjoy it greatly. The film does a wonderful job of recreating classic Broadway or big Hollywood muscial entertainment.Much of the singing is well done. And though the dancing and lyrics are far from inventive, they are energetic.I don't know who plays Mrs. Fezziwig, but she, in particular, is quite an amazing singer. It's fun to see Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jason Alexander (whom I loved on Seinfeld but have since grown weary of)in singing roles.Give it a break. My children (nine and four) truly enjoyed it.My seventh grade students also responded well.
