Synopsis:
Sarah's father leaves her to go find gold in India. He would like to take her with him but the jungles are far too dangerous for her to be tagging along. Before he leaves her to attend school in London he presents her with a treasure from her deceased mother. The doll Amalou is an Indian Princess with magical powers. It is said that if you believe in her magic, the thing that you wish for most of all will come true. Miss Michen, the headmistress at the school in London had no love of children and saw them simply as a wonderful way to get rich. Sarah is told that her father was killed, and is turned into a starving maid by the evil headmistress! Sarah has all but lost hope, when something magical happens and her life changes. Some say it was the magic doll that made Sarah's wish comes true; others say it was her loving a noble heart.
