Synopsis:
Marking the 25th recording for the brand, Smith Music Group is proud to present Willie Nelson Live At Billy Bob's Texas -- everything a milestone should be. Born in Abbott, Texas, Willie began performing when he was four and was encouraged by his grandparents to learn musical instruments. Willie opted for guitar and his sister Bobbie chose piano. He began writing songs when he was seven and later penned the Patsy Cline standard "Crazy," Faron Young's "Hello Walls," Billy Walker's "Funny How Time Slips Away" all hitting the Top 40 charts. This musical icon's career has helped shape the sound of country music. Throughout the 1960's, he recorded a series of minor hits, leading to his "outlaw country" image in the early 70's. In the mid-70's, Willie reached superstar status when he released the cross-over hit single "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain". Making his jump to the big screen, he recorded his signature song "On The Road Again" for the film Honeysuckle Rose. The next few decades teamed him up with many diverse partners including -- fellow country outlaw Waylon Jennings; Latino pop star Julio Iglesias; The Highwaymen, Waylon, Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash; Electric Horseman, Robert Redford; fellow Farm Aid founders, Neil Young and John Mellencamp; and of course, the IRS. With over 100 albums, months and months of touring, year after year, Willie Nelson has crossed all cultural and socio-economic lines. Recorded in October 2003, at a two-month's-ahead-sold-out-show, here's your ticket!
