Excellent movie. It's been a long while that I have seen an action/suspense/thriller/ focus on the actual plot and characters instead on CGI and special effects. We need more movies like this. Viggo Mortensen rendered an exceptional performance as a devoted father struggling to protect his son from the dangers of their apocalyptic world. This movie really made me ponder about what people are capable of doing if they are desperate to survive. If everything around me is destroyed and dying would I still try to be a good person and help out others or give up and use animal instinct to survive (despite the fact that things may not actually be as bad as they seem).
On a side note it also made me consider that there are parts of the world today that are hungry and destitute much like the characters in this movie. For a moment I thought about how horrible it must be for them to scavenge for scraps of food or what it must be like to be homeless.
Must see movie. I'm going to buy it.

an existentialist vignette of doomed struggle...i think tr is much liklier to find an audience abroad then here...we americanos like our stories to pose a problem that actually has a solution...no such luck with mccarthy, who specializes in his works on lingering descriptions of violated innocence and dominant, tireless evil...and you will find no reflective madman and little of the action that fueled no country on this road, although you can expect the same deadend (and guy pearce!) at the end of it...for connoisseurs only...ciao.

Do not watch this movie if you want answers for what happened what is going to happen, etc.The movie is about the two characters and their struggles of survival. It makes you think about what you would do in the same situation. Are you a good guy or a bad guy? This movie contains about four scenes of male nudity and a scene of starving humans.Stear clear if that will offend or upset you.
