Director of Marketing

The Position
Lead marketing strategy for a cutting edge company at the intersection of Hollywood and the Internet. Help shape the future of home entertainment, in which consumers buy and watch digital movies over Internet-connected TVs, PCs, game consoles, cable set-top boxes, mobile phones, and portable players. Develop business and consumer-facing marketing programs to increase sales, expand distribution and gain market share. Work with major Hollywood studios, online media companies, and consumer electronics giants to shape the digital entertainment category.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Lead all consumer (B2C) and trade marketing (B2B) efforts.
  • Direct the activities of the Marketing Manager, Merchandising Manager, and Sales Lead in their respective roles. Foster their skill sets, create an open environment for sharing learnings and provide growth opportunities enabling them to make increasingly significant contributions to the organization.
  • Create special promotions with partners to acquire new customers and drive incremental unit sales (i.e. Archos, Dell, Dish Network, HP, Microsoft Media Center Group, MSN, Samsung, Sling, Sonic, various retailers, TAVI, TiVo, and Windows Media).
  • Formulate and direct public relations and corporate communications strategies. Supervise all press announcements, media events, briefings, and interviews. Represent the company as a speaker and panelist at trade events. Develop and maintain collateral materials. Own the PR vendor relationship and manage their team of 4.
  • Utilize multiple marketing channels, including but not limited to: online (affiliate, special promotions, partnerships), retail, email, in-box, on-device, print (co-promotional advertising, circulars) and TV to generate consumer awareness and achieve revenue goals. Identify, track, measure and optimize key performance indicators (KPI) for each specific promotional deployment within each channel, determine effectiveness and ROI; refine business cases and plans of action accordingly.
  • Manage all facets of consumer product offering including operating P&L, promotions and revenue maximization strategies based on studio licensing deals with 20th Century Fox, Disney, Lionsgate, Paramount, Sony, Universal, and Warner Bros. Jointly create special promotions with studio partners, determine pricing strategies, and develop mutually beneficial business models.
  • Guide the design, implementation and analysis of actionable consumer research.
  • Define and manage new product features and tool sets designed to increase market share and reporting intelligence.
  • Identify and scope new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships (technology and content solutions, virtual storefronts, software and middleware), expanding CinemaNow?s digital distribution footprint in both the online and physical environments.
  • Research and identify emerging trends, benchmarks and best practices in the industry and marketplace. Share findings internally to guide program development, educate internal stakeholders and increase operational intelligence.

Experience
  • BS / BA required, MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years prior marketing experience required, including digital media
  • Public relations and corporate communications experience required including AP style, media relations, core messaging, and public speaking
  • Account and relationship management experience required
  • Business development, analysis and financial modeling experience required
  • Familiarity with web analytics required including Omniture and AdSense
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles, technology, and development processes required
  • Proven experience developing and presenting persuasive business cases to internal and external executives
  • Proven experience leading teams and / or projects
  • Proven ability to deliver initiatives on-budget and under a deadline
  • Prior entertainment experience preferred; demonstrated passion for movies will be considered
  • Prior CE experience preferred

Director, Product Management

The Position
The Director of Product Management is responsible for the product strategy and roadmap across multiple product lines. He/she will define and build new products & services to further distinguish Cinemanow product placement & penetration within a competitive digital entertainment arena.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Develop & deploy CinemaNow products on the web (www.cinemanow.com) and on IP-connected devices (e.g. TVs, set top boxes, portable/ mobile players, game consoles, etc.).
  • Create & manage comprehensive product documents including business cases, requirements documents, functional specifications and launch schedules.
  • Increase company revenue & profitability by expanding existing products and launching new strategies based on strategic business initiatives.
  • Implement initiatives to drive product awareness, including product positioning, packaging, promotions, pricing initiatives, etc..
  • Track and evaluate product performance, ROI & consumer engagement levels to determine and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement the online marketing strategy the product line including SEO/SEM, viral and social media initiatives.
  • Lead cross functional teams, both internally and externally, to execute product, partner and marketing plans on time, in scope and within budget.
  • Analyze the marketplace, customers, competitors and potential partners to define product requirements, priorities and opportunities.
  • Be the customer advocate throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Design & Customer Support to communicate trends, new ideas.
  • Attend trade shows, usability research & press events to monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs.

Experience
  • 5-7 years of product management experience for web-based consumer applications, digital media products, consumer electronics or online storefronts
  • Proven ability to launch and manage products successfully throughout the product lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with a strong aptitude for teamwork and leadership
  • Strategic thinker with sound analytic, quantitative and business modeling skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, directed, and possess strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand & embrace new technologies and their benefits to end-users
  • A great entrepreneur- consistently innovative on how to get a lot done with little resources
  • Knowledge of the entertainment and consumer electronics industry, specifically online content delivery, is highly beneficial but not essential


Marketing Manager / Sr. Marketing Manager

The Position

  • Manage key partner relationships: jointly develop, execute and optimize multi-channel (online, email, print, in-box, mobile, on-device, retail) consumer marketing promotions with Fortune 500 partners in the entertainment and consumer electronics spaces.
  • Manage CRM and customer database marketing programs: campaign strategy, creative development (concept through launch), program analysis and optimization.
  • Own direct marketing efforts and email vendor relationship, ensuring service provision and favorable cost structure
    • Target outbound campaigns (new solicitation, cross-sell, up-sell) by customer segment
    • Develop, test and refine specific messages / offers / promotions by segment to maximize effectiveness
