Curt Marvis, CEO of CinemaNow
Mr. Marvis has a distinguished career in television, multimedia and the Internet and has served as a co-founder and CEO of CinemaNow since its creation in June of 1999. He previously served as President of publicly held game developer 7th Level, leading their successful restructuring into delivery of web-based technology applications. At 7th Level he created and implemented business partnerships with Microsoft, Real Networks, GeoCities, broadcast.com, IBM and MTV and helped orchestrate a merger to create Learn2.com. Mr. Marvis was a founder of multimedia start-up Powerhouse Entertainment and served one year on the IBM Multimedia Task Force creating strategic plans for IBM in their continued development of interactive software. From 1984 to 1994 Mr. Marvis co-founded and served as CEO of The Company, an award winning and highly successful production company for music videos and commercials. During this time, he and his partner, Director Wayne Isham, produced many of the most popular and critically acclaimed videos in the history of MTV. They were awarded in 1991 with MTV's Video Vanguard Award honoring lifetime achievement in their work. Mr. Marvis is a graduate with honors from UCLA with a BFA in Motion Picture and Television Production.
Roland Wieshofer, CFO of Cinemanow
Mr. Wieshofer comes to CinemaNow with a broad base of experience in finance and accountancy. Before joining CinemaNow in February 2001, Mr. Wieshofer spent six months with Mandalay Pictures, advising the company on international financing deals and its prospects of going public in Germany. Prior to that, he spent four years in the automotive industry as Group Controller for Tesma International, Inc., and another four years raising financing and investor capital with a Canadian start-up home- building company operating in eastern Germany. Mr. Wieshofer also has experience in retail, banking, and public accounting. Mr. Wieshofer earned an MBA from the University of Toronto in 1999 and has been a Canadian Chartered Accountant since 1990.
David Cook, COO of Cinemanow
Mr. Cook is responsible for all of CinemaNow's daily business operations including product development, program management, encoding, merchandising and customer service. In addition, he plays an integral roll in setting business strategies and managing key partner relationships. Mr. Cook brings more than 10 years of experience in the development and deployment of digital content management and distribution systems. Mr. Cook comes to CinemaNow from Loudeye where he was responsible for building and implementing their digital supply chain as their Vice President of Media Services. Prior to Loudeye, he served as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Addition Systems (formerly MonStar Broadcast Systems), where he lead the company into the advertising based content distribution market through the development of patented technologies and their associated business models. Mr. Cook originally hails from New Zealand.
