Blair Witch moved to New York. Basically what all of my spelling challenged friends below said is true. Don't rent this movie. Renting this movie puts money in the pockets of someone who does not deserve it. On the other hand the actors did a decent job. As far as the director goes I wouldn't want my name on... hmmm. actually he did a decent job too. Considering what he had to work with. The creative team are the ones to blame. The production company needs to fire their consultant/executive who thought this movie was a good idea. Do yourself a favor....fast forward to the next flik...

Filmed in the same style as Blair Witch project.Since it was filmed in this manner, the film was choppy intentionally. The ending was the worst ever.It would have been a better movie if the ending had a different ending than the way they portrait it. Totally disappointing, it could have been a good to decent movie, but due to the terrible ending, I give it a 5 thumbs down..DO NOT BOTHER PAYING YOUR MONEY FOR THIS!

there is only one kind of movie that can be shot from randomly chosen angles in bad lighting, using a videocam and improvised dialogue, and still do well...this isn't it.

What a disappointment.I expected a lot more.JJ - how about next time you show more monster and less running around with shots of buildings and things NOBODY would be paying attention to if there was a 10 story monster in front of them.

"I don't know. It's a terrible thing." And "It's something else. Another terrible thing." It'd the best damn thriller since "The Thing"! Kudo's to Neville for the extraordinary "creature"!

Definitely an award winner: WORST WASTE OF TIME, MONEY and FILM EVER!I wouldn't even give this as a prank gift to my worst enemy. I am so I rented it and didn't go spend BIG BUCKS to take the family to the theatre. If there is one redeeming thing about this movie, I HAVEN'T FOUND IT!Three Thumbs DOWN!

this is so bad i'm suing cinemanow for my 2.00 rental fee because its so dark you can only actually see about 6 or 7 minutes of it.terrible script, horrible diection, god awful filming, and dumb ending,a total waste of time and money. the producer of this nightmare should never be allowed to work in the movie industry again.

Loved this movie. When asked what it is about I always would sum it up with "Person in the city has a camera, giant monster attacks and breaks things, person with camera tries to escape city".That about sums it up, but there is so much more. It's funny, I liked the acting, and for a change they actually Show the monster, Show the military, Show the conflict. Most movies just give a dark screen, scary noise, and show the monster at the end.Not this one, they hide nothing and give the viewer one hell of a ride. They put a lot into this one.See it.

Very interesting movie, from the commercials i thought it would be a cheesy first person close encounters of the third kind, but Cloverfield actually has various layers of depth, including comedy and romance in addition to all the thrill and horror.A definite must see recommendation from me.
