Young Jeremy Butler is about to spend yet another sleepless night, lying awake in his bed, sheets pulled up to his chin, staring wide-eyed at his bedroom closet door. There are monsters in the closet, and he dares not fall asleep for fear they'll come out and get him!Nilus the Sandman can't bear to have children who avoid sleep, whose dreams are invaded by nightmares. So Nilus whisks Jeremy to the Blue Moon Juice Bar to visit none other than the Boogie Man himself!But the Boogie Man is not the monster that Jeremy fears, but rather an expert on nightmares. He sings a cryptic song that gives Jeremy a clue; he must find and face the King of Nightmares before the monster will go away!Filled with terror, but enough determination, Nilus and Jeremy return to his bedroom closet and follow the deep, dark tunnel inside that begins the hair-raising journey to find the King of Nightmares.
