Synopsis:
The numbers only tell part of the story of one of the world's most amazing cities: built on 120 islands, separated by 177 canals, connected by 400 bridges, and more than 1,500 years old. We'll step off the gondolas to discover why Venice is considered by many to be the world's most beautiful and fascinating city. In central Italy, a tour of Florence turns up much of western civilization's greatest art and architecture. A boat ride in the Aegean brings us to SantoriniDevil's Islandand the mysterious ruins of an ancient city destroyed by a volcano. Finally, a visit to some high, stony islands of Greece reveal the remnants of fabulous legends.
