When are people going to understand that movies that are created from books hardly ever live up to the screen? I've never read the book but I enjoyed the movie ( I didn't even know that there was a book). I'm not a big fan of romance, but this movie had magic, something I am a big fan of. I'm not a big fan of homosexuality either, but Robert Deniro's gay characther is hilarious(and even though the movie isn't a five-star flick it's worth the money). I measure a movie by how many times it makes me want to watch it. I watched this movie 2 1/2 times. If I would have watched it completely the second time, I would have it given it 4 1/2 stars! I've watched nothing but 10,000 B.C. for the past month...Does that tell you how much I like it?

The movie is okay, but the book is incredible -- audio book is fabulous. (more movie points since that has to be the most beautiful man ever shown on five seconds of screen time)

hello, my real name is neville beaglebothom...but i logged in anyway as that stellar reviewer, quintusIX...quintus is wary of hypothetically charming fairy stories that feature nobodies...and he is also aware that the reason ebert and roeper's thumbs are always up is because they have been permanently impaled on stakes...however, I say if ian mckellen is willing to narrate it and peter o'toole is spending his last dying breaths on it it looks like a fairly safe shot for more or less anyone.
