Rachel Ashley is the widow of a wealthy Cornish man who has died under mysterious circumstances. The dead man's cousin, Philip Ashley, arrives to investigate his relative's untimely parting and quickly begins to suspect the widow. What complicates matters is the fact that he seems to be falling in love with her. A cliff-side confrontation leads to a fatal fall for Rachel, and it would seem that justice has somehow been served until Philip discovers some unlikely evidence that points to her innocence.
