A Lady of Chance (1928)

That little number called Angel Face (Norma Shearer) is sure a cutie. No wonder men lose their hearts to herjust before they lose their wallets! Draped in Adrian gowns and exuding saucy charm, Shearer makes her last silent film a fun one, portraying a tough cookie who falls among thieves even shadier than she is, cons them at their own grifts and marries what she thinks is a wealthy young son of the South. (She got the young and South parts right.) But love conquers all, and she opts for penniless wedded bliss until her old partners in crime show up and threaten to spill the beans. But they're still no match for Angel Face.
