Syd Jarret is an unsuspecting, down-and-out man in a washed-up hick town whose life is turned upside down when the drop dead gorgeous Nora walks through the door of his best friend Jules' bar. Of all the men in the bar Nora picks Jarrett, and together they share a lost weekend of primal passion. But Jarrett doesn't realize that Nora is actually a shape shifting creature on the run from her lover, Vic, himself a renegade predator lurking amidst the human herds whose animal instincts are stronger than his human ones. On the run again, Nora will stop at nothing to set the animal inside Jarrett free, regardless of what it will do to his sanity, as long as she can use him against Vic.
