Synopsis:
When heiress Ellie Andrews (CLAUDETTE COLBERT) weds gigolo King Westly, she's kidnapped by her unhappy father, who hopes to get the marriage annulled. Fleeing the family's yacht in Florida, Ellie boards a bus where she meets Peter Warne (CLARK GABLE), a recently-fired newspaperman who agrees to get her to New York in exchange for her story. Once the two fall in love, even though all is forgiven at home, Ellie cannot bear losing Peter. But when he slips out to borrow some money to get married, Ellie returns home, certain she's been deserted. Yet, once Mr. Andrews arranges another wedding with Westly, the realization that Ellie loves someone else prompts him to reunite her and Peter.

All I can say is that this movie is probably one of the worst I have ever seen. My I.Q. dropped at least twenty points when I watched it, and I could not be happier that the era of that sort of movie is long gone, I pray never to come back.

There is a reason some movies are deemed classics. The chemistry between Gable and Colbert is wonderful; great not-so-subtle sexually tension.
