Synopsis:
A vast, red lump of sandstone in an endless desert is the starting point of a tour of the parched, hostile Australian Outback, where one town has been built under the earth to escape the heat and native aborigines teach outsiders to eat grubs and toads to survive. Ayers Rock is the largest rock in all the world, sacred to the aborigines along with the oddly-shaped Kata Tjuta nearby. In contrast, at the Great Barrier Reef to the east, divers discover the earth's largest, richest submarine environment, while a visit to the island of Tasmania turns up strange creatures and more natural wonders.
