Synopsis:
Johnny Miller, a mentally challenged man in his thirties has the mind of an adolescent. He lives with his mother in California. They have a modest life that is predictable every day in and day out; Johnny leaves to work every morning, but his job doesn't exist. He takes the bus to Venice Beach and wanders around all day, dreaming that he is a part of the colorful crowd that surrounds him. His mother pampers his childlike immagination. This harmony ends with the mother's terminal illness. The only solution for Johnny is an institution, but by prior arrangement, a young woman is hired to take care of him. The closeness of Amy Jo gives hope to Johnny that he might be able to trun his dream world into a reality.

An interesting film. The terrible acting seems to try to destroy the whole story, but Jon Jacobs acting is so superior the the rest of the cast that he manages to make the film work. For a couple of seconds the Mum pulls off an almost convincing performance, but then looses it again. The girl and the rockstar are awful. But, it really is worth a watch, just to see Johnny be so consistently good, surrounded by rubbish.
