Synopsis:
As the killer searches Bob Ellis' body, Ellis' phone rings. On the other end, when Jack gets a voice mail message, he tells Milo to trace Ellis' phone. Milo shows Jack photos of the three new assassins, and says one of them, Alex, is Victor Drazen's son. Meanwhile, Palmer's aide, Elizabeth, calls Alexis, tells him she and Palmer's party aren't leaving town today after all, and makes plans to meet him later. At the safe house, Nina questions Kim, who continues to insist that Rick helped them and isn't a kidnapper. After Kim leaves, Nina tells Teri that Kim seems to have “feelings” for Rick, but Teri says it's not possible. At the same time, however, Kim uses Nina's purloined cell phone to call Rick, who tells Kim not to call him for a while. Kim is hurt, and then we see another woman, Melanie, tending to Rick and handing him a beer.At the hotel, agent Pierce shows Palmer and his staff photos of the three new assassins. Elizabeth recognizes Alexis' face and, in shock, slips out of the room. Palmer sees her go and catches up to her, asking what's wrong. At the safe house, Nina continues questioning Teri, but Teri's still so upset at discovering Jack and Nina's affair that she can't continue. About the same time, Palmer calls Jack and tells him about Elizabeth's relationship with Alexis. Jack says he'll send a CTU helicopter to pick up Elizabeth, and tells Palmer about his aborted conversation with Ellis, speculating Ellis is dead, which worries Palmer.At the safe house, Kim sees Teri's upset and asks what happened with Nina, but Teri won't say. At the CTU, George Mason arrives, saying he's taking over for Green. Jack tells him about Elizabeth and Alexis, and suggests they let her keep her date to see what they can learn from Alexis. Mason doesn't like the idea and says he wants to talk to Elizabeth first. Back at the hotel, Palmer's daughter Nicole overhears Keith talking to Carl on the phone, and when she expresses concern, he says he's just trying to protect her and asks her help in sneaking out past the Secret Service guards. She creates a distraction, and he slips out.Meanwhile, Andre Drazen remains at the outdoor cafe and introduces himself to the dark-haired waitress, Amanda, saying she looks like his late sister, Martina. As Andre tips Amanda $100, he gets a call from Jovan Myovic (the man who told Nina, at the clinic, he was an FBI agent), who says he's located Kim and Teri at the safe house. He promises Andre the women will be dead soon, and Andre urges him to call the minute it's done.At the safe house, Teri urges Kim to let them know if she does know how to contact Rick. At the CTU, Jack and Mason question Elizabeth, who says she met Alexis a week ago in Washington, D.C. Jack says she may be able to help them protect Palmer, but Mason pulls Jack aside and insists it's too risky. Jack says he just wants her help in planting a tracking device on Alexis, and Mason agrees to ask her; after some initial hesitation, she agrees. At the safe house, agent Paulson shows Kim and Teri photos of Gaines' staff, and senses their tensing at Eli's image. A few minutes later, however, another agent, Breeher, is grabbed from behind and killed by someone with a knife.Paulson continues questioning Teri and Kim, but Teri's so distracted, Kim asks for a five-minute rest. Paulson goes out to get some coffee, and worries when he doesn't see Breeher or two other agents at their assigned posts. Paulson rushes back to the bedroom and orders Kim and Teri not to leave the room. Paulson goes out to the living room, and finds Jovan, who comes out with his hands up. Then another man, Mishko, pops up behind Paulson and stabs him in the stomach. Jovan and Mishko rush to the bedroom, but Kim and Teri are gone. The men rush outside, just in time to see Kim and Teri fleeing in a car. Then Paulson appears and shoots Mishko. Jovan kills Paulson, then jumps into a car and tears out after Teri and Kim. As he chases them, Teri rounds a curve, then pulls off the road, coming to rest at a huge precipice. Jovan doesn't see them and speeds on. Kim is dazed from the sudden maneuver, so Teri gets out of the car to make sure Jovan's gone. When she's a few feet away, she hears a scraping noise, sees the car fall off the precipice and explode into flames and, fearing Kim is dead, curls up into a fetal position and breaks down.Finally, Teri rises and begins walking away. Meanwhile, Keith meets Carl at a coffee shop, and threatens to expose his involvement in the death of Keith's therapist, Ferragamo. Carl threatens to frame Keith for Gibson's death if he does so, and when Keith still presses him, he also says he planted evidence that could frame Keith for Ferragamo's death. Carl leaves, satisfied he's safe, but then we see Keith take out a small tape recorder, revealing he's recorded the entire conversation. At the CTU, Milo tells Jack that Ellis' body has been found. Jack asks Milo to take Elizabeth to a helicopter waiting to return her to the hotel, and then Nina returns. Jack is surprised to learn she left Kim and Teri with the other agents, but then pulls her off to look at something. Back on the road, a girl named Tanya stops and picks up Teri, who's now so disoriented she doesn't even remember her own name. Then, as they drive off, we see Kim, who was thrown from the car before it fell, come to on the hillside and realize her mother is gone.
