I very much enjoyed this film, largely because of the unusual presentation, and the basic premise.Basically, the tale is told in reverse ? but not entirely in reverse, as there are sequences that play out in what feels like ?real time,? though one is never sure. There are so many flash-backs, flash-forwards, and flash-whatevers, that the filmmakers resort to use of black and white sequences to set apart certain chronologically strategic sequences or to illuminate certain plot points, without the complication of their odd chronology.(Let?s call those ?flash outs.?) It is quite interesting, but it can also be a bit confusing if you aren?t giving the film your full attention. As for the plot, well, the premise is the plot, nearly.A man?s memory affliction prevents him from remembering the near past, even days or hours prior.Toss in elements of murder mystery, crime drama, and psyche, and it gets all the more interesting.By itself, though, the actual story would be nothing, one we?ve seen before, so the viewer must buy into the premise and the twisted chronology of it.The acting, meanwhile, is decent enough but, again, it is really the premise and presentation that make the film worthy of your time. And it is, if you?re willing to give it your full attention.Otherwise, you may only be marginally entertained, and it may just seem a blur of ?who/when/what the heck was that??
