Synopsis:
JUST MARRIED chronicles the beleaguered romance of Tom Leezak (ASHTON KUTCHER) and Sarah McNerney (BRITTANY MURPHY), a young couple unexpectedly swept off their feet after their first meeting. Tom is a late-night radio traffic reporter whose good looks, blue collar lifestyle, and unrelenting passion for sports makes him the ultimate alpha-male. Sarah is a beautiful, free-spirited writer whose family is as wealthy as it is snobbish. Much to the surprise of Tom's friends and the dismay of Sarah's family, the two quickly fall in love. Tom's attempts to assimilate himself into Sarah's world of privilege and expectations fall short, but Sarah ignores her father and sister's incessant attempts to dissuade her from following her heart and marrying her knight in rusty armor.Following their wedding, the happy couple sets off with the highest of hopes and ideals about love and marriage on what they expect will be the perfect vacation in Italy. Thanks to Sarah's wealthy ex-boyfriend and a relentless string of bad luck, the happy couple experiences a honeymoon from hell that tests the limits of their young love. © 2003 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. CRITIC REVIEWS
Lew Irwin

The romantic comedy Just Married is getting the worst reviews of the year. We mention that not just because it's the only film released so far this year, but because it's hard to imagine any film being clobbered worse. Lou Lumenick in the New York Post, for example, writes: Truth is, January is when Hollywood traditionally buries mistakes that might have been more mercifully sent straight to video -- though this one is barely worth a rental on 2-for-1 night, much less a splurge of $10 for a multiplex ticket. John Petraki in the Chicago Tribune writes similarly that Just Married is what industry people refer to as 'January Junk,' cinematic flotsam that gets tossed ashore once they have cleared the shelves of Oscar contenders. Chris Kaltenback in the Baltimore Sun says that the movie suffers from the worst problem a comedy can have; it simply isn't funny. Some of the reviews are, however. Jack Mathews in the New York Daily News says that the movie entertained me in the same way Ben Stiller's zipper entertained him in There's Something About Mary.

Kevin Thomas in the Los Angeles Times remarks that it's like a bright and shiny package tied up neatly with a ribbon, but there's nothing inside it. And Bob Strauss in the Los Angeles Daily News observes, The film's stars {Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy) are now dating each other. That makes two people on Earth who got something worthwhile out of Just Married..
