Synopsis:
The enduring songs of The Beatles, set the tone for Across The Universe, a love story about a British boy and an American girl set against the backdrop of the social upheaval of the 1960s. The stirring music of the Fab Four will drive the narrative, with the actors singing and dancing to the classic tunes. The film is directed by acclaimed filmaker Julie Taymor (Frida, Titus) and is a feast for the eyes with it's stunning color and cutting edge visual style. Evan Rachel Wood (Thirteen) and Jim Sturgess play the young couple in love with supporting roles from Salma Hayek and Bono.

This movie is absolutely delightful. The Beatles songs never sounded so good. Watch this one, you will be very entertained.

A movie about the turbulent year of 1968. Yes, it uses Beatles music to portray feeling, events of the times. BUT it also captures the emotional climate of the times. Not for young people below the age of 13 because they will have a difficult time understanding all of the racial tensions, military draft, riots, music, psychedelic drugs and defiance against authority. I think it was well researched and put together. It portrays the innocence of the young people of the time, & the strong belief in love & music. The events in this movie portrayed the life altering changes many of us lived through. These changes also helped re-shape our society. Many of us still believe "all you need is love."
