This film has its charm, but is quite dated. Steve Martin gives a good performance, but it's still difficult to believe in the mafioso-turned-rat nice guy character he is playing. Rick Moranis puts in a good performance as well, but once again it's difficult to believe the things his character does in the film. The ending is also not credible. Too many goofy characters, even though the actors do what they can with the material, leave the viewer uninterested in what happens. Ultimately disappointing. At least there was no overabundance of potty humor that is so typical of most recent Hollywood comedies.
