Synopsis:
This marvelously funny movie stars DUSTIN HOFFMAN as an out-of-work actor who makes himself up as a woman to get a job. Nobody will hire brash Michael Dorsey (DUSTIN HOFFMAN) because he's antagonized every producer in New York. When his girlfriend, Sandy (TERI GARR), fails an audition for a soap opera, Michael dresses up as "Dorothy Michaels" and lands the part. Michaels fellow conspirators are his agent, George (director Sydney Pollack), and his roommate, Jeff (BILL MURRAY). All goes well until "Dorothy" falls in love with beautiful co-star, Julie (Jessica Lange), and Julie's father, Les (CHARLES DUNNING), falls for "Dorothy."
