I was so hoping Samuel would kill Affleck in a long and drawn out manner. But, alas, no. Someday.

Samuel L. Jackson rarely takes a role in a flick of low potential and this is no exception. He carries the movie, but then, what did you expect when his nemesis is Ben Affleck (Isn't there an insurance company, with the duck???...never mind). The writing here is good and Jackson's acting moves the whole story into the realm of the credible, despite that the premise itself is pretty incredible. The subtext of the father-in-law's law firm activities is sublimated too deeply by the interactions between the two leads, however this doesn't ruin the story, just makes it a little more difficult to keep up with. As in many of the lower-budget flicks made (largely) outside the US (or by non-US production companies) there is too much TELLING and not enough showing. This isn't radio people! Let's learn to cut excess dialogue and move the movie forward with images that are, well, worth 1,000 words?
