I saw about 20 mins. and fell flat to sleep. When I awoke, even my GI Joe's were nestled in their napsacks. The best thing about this rental is that is was $2.99. Hard lesson learned for three bucks. Had it have been $3.99, I think I would have cried. This is not a thinking man's war flick, it is an exceptional cure for insomnia. But what did I expect from Sean "I'll save New Orleans or my name ain't Spikoli" Penn.

Best war movie ever. The "famous" actors were supposed to be subdued and have a lesser role. It is beautifully filmed. Terence Malick directed it to perfection. Sean Penn and Nick Nolte were great in this film. It is a bit slow...so if you want action and shrapnel in the scrotum straight through, don't bother...go play with your G.I Joes. This is a thinking person's movie. Contemplative and tragic and beautiful.

The movie is very over acted...Cinematography is excellent and sound engineers did great job...The movies story line was weak and way overacted...The all star cast was there to party in the carribean between takes..Travolta was there to fly the vintage aircraft(hes a pilot)... Clooney and Cusak had3 lines between them in the whole 2.5 hours. The movie sucked and was trying way to hard to be a good war epic thats its not...Its would have been more entertaining watching the behind the scenes party with a half dozen filthy rich actors having a boys night out in the carribean.
