having been marooned for 8 years in austin, texas, i think i can safely state that the salvation of others is not in the line of business of legislators there...it is widely assumed that jesus has that covered...also, the strategic location of a russian occupational army at the edge of iran predictably excited the interest and stimulated the involvement of "clandestine" organizations all over the world...still, charlie is a very sharply written movie(which would explain nichols' association with it), facts, such as they may be, fiction, and all...lastly, i have never seen tom hanks upstaged by anyone until hoffman's wonderfully sardonic rendition of cia agent gus avrakotos ("there's a t in it, but i don't care").
