Synopsis:
Alec Thames is a prolific young writer who has never had the nerve to submit any of his forty books to a publishing company. Mired in misery and searching for his identity, he pledges to his dysfunctional family that he will commit suicide on his 25th birthday. His obsessive compulsive mother, karate kid emulating brother, shamelessly masturbating uncle and ambiguously gay father all do their best to make Alec believe that they support his decision to kill himself. However, after stumbling upon love and a new sense of self, Alec wants to back out of his pledge but fears family humiliation if he does not go through with his suicide promise.

This is a well written and produced film.It is one of the best free ones I have seen.The acting is very good.The characters are unique.I gave it five stars because not only was it free, but it kept my interest.Many of these free flicks are a little bit better than porn as far as the acting is concerned.The acting in this film is great, very believeable.The "suicide" premise is starting to get old, but besides that, the story line was very deep.This is one of the few films you can see where you can actually learn something about life.I enjoyed this very much!!

I usually go for more mainstream films, but I ocassionally try watching indie film.I had heard about this one from a friend, so I thought that I'd check it out.I actually tried to not like it, just so I could be mad at my friend for suggesting it.But, it turned out to be a funny, funny film.It's not exactly Hollywood quality, but I'm not sure that it's supposed to be.There are times when it's low-budget is obvious (like when you see the cop car with the one light on top), but still you don't really care too much.The story pulls you in, and then the humor keeps you laughing, so you barely notice the low-budget stuff.It's crazy to think that this film is honestly better than some Hollywood movies that are made for millions of dollars, but it is.
