MALIBU EYES is a story of suspense, intrigue and discovered sexuality. HANNAH is a helpless romantic alone on vacation in quiet, picturesque Crescent Bay. With her parents and boyfriend unable to accompany her, she is left with a beautiful beach cottage all to herself.She finds several video cameras of the house owner, JIM, an award winning documentary filmmaker, and is immediately hooked. While filming her surroundings, she discovers LOLA, a beautiful 17 year old wading in the tide pools. Upon investigating the following morning, Hannah spies VINCENT coming out of the water. He's handsome, well built, and lights a spark of sexual desire Hannah has never felt nor acted upon before.Hannah tapes JOAN LOTT and MICHELLE berating the MAYOR, a blond bomb shell, for sunbathing topless on her sundeck, and attracting the attention of Joan's 13 year old son, SAMUEL. There is a political agenda about to be voted on in the town, proposition 72, and an anti-pornography initiative. FRANCIS (the Mayor) opposes the initiative on the grounds of the first amendment, while Joan and Michelle are it's strongest allies.Lola seems distraught while spying on Michelle, who happens to be lying on the beach with her husband and child. Michelle heads back to the pier, where her secret lover (Vincent) meets her. They make love right under the nose of her husband, and Hannah's need to find out what's going on is greater than ever.That night, Hannah tapes the ever-popular Vincent having sex with a blond woman who appears to be Francis. Lola is Vincent's girlfriend, and Hannah can't understand why Francis, who seems like a dedicated, loving mother, would do such a thing. Hannah then discovers what a volatile situation she's fallen into when a videotape of herself is left on her sundeck, and she's not the only one in the spy business. Through her detective work, Hannah discovers that the blond woman repeatedly having sex with Vincent, is not Francis, but Joan Lott wearing a blond wig. Joan catches Hannah spying, destroys her camera, and claims victory that they've got nothing on her. Before leaving Crescent Bay with newfound sexual maturity, and refined spying skills, Hannah finally experiences sex with Vincent and her attraction to Lola is not left unaddressed. The romance she wanted all along is finally hers, and she heads back to college a changed woman.
