Synopsis:

It is the summer of 1943 and the British Army has been dispatched to a small village in Southern Sicily as part of the Allied Forces operationd. Upon their arrival, Colonel Harold Pearson takes charge of the community, laying down laws and severely restricting the Italian way of life. His rules become intolerable...until he is introduced to the mayor's beautiful wife, Maria and becomes totally enamoured with her. The Colonel is never quite the same again...
