Synopsis:
While Kim searches the road for Teri, Teri (still dazed and suffering from amnesia) rides with a woman named Tanya looking for familiar landmarks. Meanwhile, Jovan reports to Andre Drazen that the women escaped the car crash and vows to find them. At the same time, Keith meets with Carl and threatens to expose Carl's involvement in Ferragamo's death. Carl says that if Keith does, he will be framed for the deaths of both Lyle Gibson and Ferragamo. Keith backs off and Carl leaves, but after he's gone, we see Keith has taped the entire conversation.At Palmer's hotel, Jack introduces Nina and several CTU technicians to Agent Pierce, and as the technicians wire Alexis' room with fiber optic cameras, Jack briefs Elizabeth on her role in catching Alexis. Back in Tanya's car, Teri recognizes a restaurant and asks Tanya to stop. Tanya, who has to get to an appointment, leaves Teri at the restaurant, and Teri asks to see the manager. At the hotel, Palmer worries about using Elizabeth as bait, but she insists she wants to help and Jack promises to protect her.At a convenience store, Kim calls the CTU, looking for Jack. When Tony answers and says both Jack and Nina are out, Kim tells him the safe house has been violated and her mother is gone, but refuses to say where Tony can find her. After Kim hangs up, Tony tells Mason about the safe house attack, and Mason orders Tony to go there to find out what's happening. Tony wants to call Jack, too, but Mason insists the news would only distract Jack, and orders Tony not to contact him. Back at the convenience store, Kim calls Rick and begs for his address. Reluctantly, he gives it to her, but when he hangs up, Melanie looks at him suspiciously.Meanwhile, Alexis calls Andre to say he's on his way to see Elizabeth again, and Andre tells Alexis to kill her when he's done. At the hotel, Jack gives Elizabeth a tracking device and asks her to plant it in Alexis' wallet. He also gives her a code phrase to use if anything goes wrong, and promises to break in with a SWAT team the moment she uses it. At the restaurant, the manager, Henry, greets Teri by name, and asks if Dr. Parslow will be joining her. Teri explains her memory loss, and Henry offers to call Parslow for her, even though she now has no idea who he is.Back at the hotel, Keith tells Palmer about his conversation with Carl and gives Palmer the tape he made, begging Palmer to go public with the whole thing. In another room, Jack joins Nina at a bank of surveillance monitors watching Alexis' room, and Nina confesses that Teri found out about their affair. Just as the tension rises between them, an agent radios that Alexis has just arrived outside. As Alexis gets comfortable in his room, Elizabeth knocks. When he admits her, he senses she's nervous, but she attributes it to the election and asks for a drink. As Alexis makes the drink, Elizabeth excuses herself to go to the bathroom; then, in Alexis' bedroom, she rifles through his things, finds his wallet, and tries to plant the tracking device in it. She drops the device just as Alexis enters with her drink. Alexis kisses her and grills her about Palmer's schedule for the rest of the day, but Elizabeth stalls and asks him to order some food. When he leaves, she slips the tracking device into his wallet.As arranged, Jack reaches for his cell phone to call Elizabeth (pretending to be Palmer summoning her), but when the phone rings in Alexis' room, Elizabeth doesn't answer it. As Alexis tells Elizabeth that he loves her, Elizabeth continues to ignore the phone, and Jack and Nina get nervous. Finally, just as Jack decides to break in, Elizabeth grabs a letter opener and stabs Alexis in the chest. A moment later, Jack bursts in with the SWAT team.Kim arrives at Rick's house in Silverlake. Melanie greets her coldly, but Rick invites her in. At the restaurant, Phil Parslow greets Teri, and when he learns of her amnesia, he hugs her, comforts her, and tells her everything will be fine. At the hotel, Jack gets a phone call from Mason, who's furious to learn what happened to Alexis. Palmer runs in and goes to talk to Elizabeth just as a CTU agent brings Alexis' cell phone, which is ringing, to Jack. Jack answers it, and when a man on the other end asks if he has “the money,” Jack says he does and makes arrangements to meet the man, who will be wearing a red cap, at a restaurant on Wilshire. Then, after the call, Jack and Nina begin searching Alexis' room for the money he was obviously supposed to deliver to the caller.
