Synopsis:
Jack and Nina search Alexis' room and find a cache of bearer bonds, which Alexis was supposed to deliver to the man Jack has now agreed to meet. Back at the CTU, Milo tells Mason that Tony has learned the safe house agents are dead, and Mason tells Milo not to tell Jack what happened there. At the restaurant, Dr. Parslow tells Teri that she's married and has a teenage daughter. When she asks who he is, Parslow says they dated a bit while Teri was separated from Jack, but they stopped seeing each other when she went back to her husband.At Rick's house, Kim and Rick go through Dan's room, looking for clues about Gaines and his men, while Melanie looks on disapprovingly. Finally, Kim realizes Rick hasn't told Melanie that Dan is dead, and he says Dan's brother, Frank, is on his way over and begs her not to say anything to him, either. Meanwhile, Jack calls Tony and asks for the safe house number, so he can call Teri, but Tony passes the call to Mason. Jack tells Mason about his planned meeting with Alexis' contact, and Mason reluctantly agrees to back up Jack's masquerade.As Jack and Nina drive to the rendezvous, Nina tries calling the safe house for Jack, but gets no answer. Back at the hotel, Palmer plays the tape Keith made of Carl for Sherry, but Novick overhears and reminds Palmer that a secretly taped conversation is not legal evidence. Sherry tells Palmer he'll have to choose between winning the election and going public about Carl, and orders him to destroy the tape so he doesn't jeopardize his campaign. Meanwhile, Andre calls Jovan, who says he's going to the Bauer house to see if either Teri or Kim has returned there. At the restaurant, Parslow examines Teri and concludes she may have been beaten by her husband. She begs to go home, and even though Parslow isn't sure it's a good idea, he agrees to take her there.At Rick's house, Melanie insists Kim leave before Frank arrives, and she agrees to go. When Melanie finally steps out of the room, Kim thanks Rick for his help and they kiss... but then Frank - a nastier version of his brother, Dan - walks in. Frank asks Rick how things went with Dan the night before, and Rick says fine, but that Dan hasn't returned yet. Franks asks about the money they got from Gaines, revealing that he plans to use it to buy a large amount of drugs, but Rick says Dan still has it. Once again, Kim starts to leave, but Frank blocks the door, saying he doesn't want anyone to leave until after his drug deal has been completed.Back at the hotel, Palmer tells Keith that he wants to go public, and Keith insists he's up to the challenge. As Jack and Nina arrive near the Chinese restaurant where Jack plans to meet Alexis' contact, Mason calls and tells them an agent named Teddy Hanlin has been assigned to Jack's backup team. Jack is upset, and explains to Nina that Teddy still blames Jack for the death of his partner, Seth Campbell. Then Teddy arrives, carrying a sniper rifle, and warns Jack to be careful because he wouldn't want to shoot the wrong person.As Jack positions himself in front of the restaurant, Teddy talks on the radio headsets about how Seth Campbell's widow recently killed herself. Jack and Nina tell Teddy to back off, but Teddy keeps taunting Jack, so Nina calls Mason, who cuts into their radio line and orders Jack and Teddy to set aside their differences. After the call, Tony reports to Mason that he's just heard about a car accident involving someone of Teri's description who has now disappeared, and Mason orders Tony to send an agent to the Bauers' house. Back at the hotel, Palmer asks Sherry what happened to the tape, which he left sitting out, and Sherry said she destroyed it. Then Palmer pulls the real tape from his pocket, saying he left a decoy out to test her. He expresses his disappointment in her, then tells Novick to set up a press conference immediately.Jovan arrives at the Bauer house, then sees a CTU agent, Williams, arrive a moment later. Back at Rick's house, Kim and Rick realize that if Frank has no money when the drug dealer arrives, things could get very dangerous. At the Chinese restaurant, Jack sees Alexis' contact, Ted Morgan, wearing a red baseball cap. Jack waves Morgan over, and Morgan asks Jack for the money. Jack asks him to reiterate the plans first, and Morgan says he's going to shut down the power on Grid 26, Double G at precisely 7:30 p.m. As they talk, Morgan realizes Jack's not really Alexis (no accent), and starts to run away. Jack orders Teddy to hold his fire, but Teddy shoots Morgan, who falls off a bridge and is killed when he hits the pavement below. Meanwhile, as Parslow and Teri pull into the Bauer driveway, we see Jovan in the bushes... standing over Williams' dead body.
