Synopsis:
They came from the valleys, mesas and arid plains of the four corners where Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah meet. They came from the vast Navajo reservation, from Kayenta, Gallup, Tuba City, Shiprock. They were mere kids, fifteen, sixteen years of age, who left U.S. government run schools that had been teaching them not to speak their native Navajo language, sometimes beating them if they did, to force them to learn the white man's ways. They were boys about to be turned into men in the crucible of war and human sacrifice. They were young Navajo's about to face the ritual of battle that their forefathers had faced when their lands had been taken from them. They were poised on the brink of defending and dying for the very country that had taken the lives of many of their grandparents...and one wondered why?
