Synopsis:
Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy star in WILD HOGS, the hysterically funny comedy about four weekend-warrior friends who decide to rev up their ho-hum suburban lives with a cross-country motorcycle adventure. They don their leathers, fire up their hogs and throw caution and their cell phones to the wind as they hit the open highway. But a lot can happen on the road to nowhere, including a run-in with the bad-to-the-bone Del Fuegos, a real biker gang who don't take kindly to the wannabes. Filled with hilarious misadventures, screwball situations and madcap mayhem, this laugh-out-loud comedy is a movie your whole family will go hog wild over.

Reviews for Wild Hogs, starring Martin Lawrence, John Travolta, Tim Allen, and William H. Macy, read like a freeway warning sign. "Biker Comedy Goes Nowhere Fast" is the headline on Elizabeth Weitzman's review in the New York Daily News. "Goopy mush," is the way Gene Seymour describes it in Newsday. Other critical comments: "I felt as if I were asphyxiating in an avalanche of sagging flesh." (Michael Sragow in the Baltimore Sun:) "This movie stinks of exhaust and desperation." (Claudia Puig in USA Today.)

travolta breaks from the clinch in the midst of an impromptu dance lesson with another hog, who responds with a wounded, "but it's only a pocket knife!"...a fairly harmless, if flacid joke, if taken alone...but hogs is heavily mined with homophobic allusions (centered on an orgiastic gay trooper)...although thinly salted with genuinely comical instants, this one is likely to exert its greatest attraction on those who find humor in extreme physical deformity and violent falls...apologies are in order, guys.
