Synopsis:
WILLIAM SHATNER & LEONARD NIMOY: Closest of friends...boldly going where neither man has gone before. This is an unprecedented examination of the impact the Star Trek experience has had on the franchise's most celebrated participants - William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. The two stars have arguably embodied the brightest icons in the sci-fi universe - Shatner as passionate Captain James T. Kirk, and Nimoy as logical Mr. Spock. Now, these two icons of popular culture candidly share behind-the-scenes adventures of one of the greatest franchises in entertainment history.

While it's largely fodder for Trek fans, in small ways thisa suprisingly potent, bracingly honest work. Shatner and Nimoy are both clever manipulators of their unique brand of fame, and so it wouldn't have been a surprise if this was another exercise in self-serving fanploitation. Instead, what we get are two older-and-yes-wiser icons looking back on what they learned and what they lost, on their long climb into the American pop culture firmament.
